Class of 1971 MHS Alumni Cary Bauer and Dr. Laurie Koening Bauer established  Operation XLR8 an Endowment for Innovative Grants for STEM Collaborations. 

This grant aims to support high school STEM teachers in collaborating to create new or innovative STEM courses for both Minot High and Minot North High Schools.

The Bill Marlenee Scholarship for Millwrights and Ironworkers is established to honor the life and legacy of Bill Marlenee by supporting graduating Minot North High School students who are pursuing careers in the skilled trades.

This scholarship recognizes that careers in the trades require skill, dedication, hard work, reliability, and a willingness to learn. It is intended to help students as they take their first steps toward becoming professional ironworkers or millwrights and to reduce some of the initial cost of purchasing the tools and equipment needed to begin their careers. goes here. Established by her family in 2025 in loving memory of Ella Suzanne Pederson, a beloved student at Minot North HS, who lived with a rare genetic disorder, IQSEC2. Ella was known for her joyful presence, infectious laugh, and deep appreciation for everyday life. This scholarship honors Ella’s legacy by supporting students who embody her spirit and the value of belonging. As of December 2024, Minot Public Schools had 180+ students that were living in transition (homeless or do not have a permanent home). We strive to help those families as much as we can. Back2Basics is a hybrid pantry program that was established in the 2020-2021 school year to ensure that students who need help with basic needs receive support. The Hybrid Pantry gives students basic necessities such as food, toiletry items, shoes, clothing, school supplies, and a helping hand.
